Who is the OrthTeam?

The OrthTeam is a group of highly-skilled consultants who specialise in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. Since formation in 2007, the OrthTeam has grown and developed to establish itself as one of the leading providers of MSK treatment and surgery in the North. We work together to provide an integrated approach which ensures outstanding, personalised care for each and every patient.

What conditions do you treat?

Each of our consultants has trained to develop the highest level of specialisation in their chosen area, which includes all aspects of orthopaedics, peripheral nerve, neurosurgery, neurology, pain management and sport and exercise medicine. We treat every musculoskeletal (MSK) condition and look after a wide range of patients; including athletes with sporting injuries, arthritis sufferers to complex spinal conditions.

What are the state-of-the-art diagnostics available?

At the OrthTeam Centre, patients have access to a cutting-edge 3 Tesla (3T) MRI scanner which, being equipped with the most up-to-date technology, offers a shorter examination time and clearer, more detailed images. This allows us to reduce the amount of time the patient is in the scanner without compromising image quality. The high resolution of 3T imaging is really important to a consultant and can make a difference in establishing the diagnosis, as well as determining the course of management for each patient. The clarity of the images obtained can identify subtle abnormalities not previously seen on standard scanners used at most healthcare facilities. Patients also benefit from a dedicated digital X-ray facility, ultrasound and fluoroscopy room for image-guided injections, all within the OrthTeam Centre.

What happens if I need an operation?

We offer all elements of outpatient care at the OrthTeam Centre. If you do require surgery, we’re conveniently located next to Spire Manchester which ensures safe and easy access to inpatient, day case and other subspecialist care, all in a Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessed ‘Outstanding’ environment.
