Shoulder Arthroplasty Masters Course 2024 in Sicily
At the beginning of October, Professor Peach was invited to lecture at the Shoulder Arthroplasty Masters Course 2024 in Sicily. He was part of a worldwide faculty of expert surgeons gathered in Sicily for an instructional masterclass in cutting-edge technology, surgical techniques and research in the field of shoulder replacements. He gave a lecture on accumulating risk factors for most common aTSA and rTSA complications - which encompasses research on computer learning and artificial intelligence, and how this can help us predict how well patients will respond to our treatments as well as predicting complications so we can adjust what we do to avoid these, and the future which is personalised surgical healthcare.
Birmingham Live Surgery Course
Towards the end of October, Professor Peach was part of an international faculty of renowned surgeons from across the world providing a unique online live surgery course. This demonstrated cutting-edge surgical techniques to invited delegates who joined online to watch from across the globe, from the USA to Australia. He performed live, a revision rotator cuff repair with augmentation with a Regeneten bioinductive implant.
French Society of Orthopaedic and Traumatological Surgery (SOFCOT) in Paris
During November, Professor Peach was invited to SOFCOT in Paris, the French Orthopaedic Society, and gave a talk on computer navigated glenoid bonegrafting in complex shoulder replacement surgery. He was excited to travel to the French capital which he first visited in 1986, and enjoyed the same warm welcome that he always receives from French colleagues.
Shoulder and Elbow Society of India Conference in Kerala
Professor Peach’s final lecture of the month was at the Shoulder and Elbow Society of India Conference in Kerala. His talk explored the clinical and research evidence behind treatment of partial and full thickness rotator cuff tears using a bio inductive implant.
