The 'Alpha Series' is a collaboration with Arthrex Dubai over two years, where a cohort of 12 junior shoulder surgeons from across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India and Tanzania, are taught by Mr Ravenscroft and Mr Morgan everything they need to know; starting with the basics like patient examinations. Over the course of 24 months, the aim is to progress the doctors from junior shoulder consultants to accredited skilled surgeons, who are then able to offer advanced techniques.

The course was devised by Mr Ravenscroft, and will be delivered by both him and Mr Morgan, who have a strong relationship having worked closely together for more than 15 years. The education is a mixture of in-person training and remote learning via. webinars etc. The first of the four courses was a face-to-face meeting in Dubai, where the junior doctors got the opportunity to meet with the OrthTeam consultants, and co-organiser from Arthrex Dubai, Mohammed El Naggar. As the course progresses, new students can join at different levels depending on their existing skill set. The next learning session is scheduled for Dubai in December.
